Simple Skincare Essentials

skinstuff

My everyday skincare routine is simple–cleanse and moisturize– so as not to startle my wimpy skin. Anything even remotely foreign could send it into a spiral of dry bumps, enormous zits, or red, itchy splotches.

So fun.

Now I try to use simple, clean skincare add-ons that will hydrate, exfoliate, and help fade the scars of face nightmares past. I think I’ve found the winning combo…but I’ll let you know if anything changes.

Sukin Rose Hip Oil

Let’s start with rose hip oil, AKA the elixir of the Gods. Since I’ve started using this about a month ago, I’ve noticed a huge difference in the texture of my skin- remember those weird dry bumps from earlier? Gone now. And my pesky scars are just barely visible. Even though this is an oil, it doesn’t seem to make my oily face any worse, so I add about four drops to my moisturizer morning and night.

Philosophy Microdelivery Peel Kit

Salicylic and lactic acids exfoliate the deep layer of the skin, while a gritty texture manually exfoliates. I use this twice a week to made sure no excess skin cells can clog my pores and to leave a smooth finish for my make up to glide over. If you have sensitive skin, try to ease yourself into the product by using it once a week at first, as this is a pretty intense exfoliating treatment.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask

I just wrote a more in depth review on this product here, but to sum it up, this mask smells amazing, has antibacterial properties to fight acne, and leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated.
