Blend in: Gold Coast

IMG_2619

Even though Gold Coast girls are known for their fake tans, titties, and lips, I’ve noticed that their make up is often really natural. I usually feel that my smokey eyes and bright lips are overdone for the laid back life style here. Bright eyeshadows and bold lips don’t work in a place where you can go for a swim on your lunch break, and there might not be much time between seaside yoga and breakfast to get all dolled up.

So my dear traveller or fellow beachy wannabe, do you want to blend in with the women on the Gold Coast? Their faces are simple, pretty, and able to withstand the sand and surf, or at least fade off gracefully.

The main focal points of this look are bronzed, glowing skin and full brows.

Dampen your sponge to blend together foundation and concealer. Use a larger brush for bronzer, and a smaller one to pinpoint areas you want to highlight, like cheekbones and the cupid's bow.

Here you might be saying to yourself, Louise, you’re a dumbass for using three bronzers. And you may be right. Feel free to use however many bronzers you like, but with over 245 sunny days on the Gold Coast, we did not choose the bronzer life, the bronzer life chose us.

For fluffy natural brows, fill in any sparse areas with a pencil, and keep them in place with a tinted gel.
